On Saturday night I made this appetizer for a baby shower, its called crack bread! For good reason, its super addicting! I had to refrain from eating the whole thing by myself, after all I was at a baby shower and not at home in my stretchy pants! It was super easy to make and one I've already had requests for the recipe.
I have to admit, I found it on Pintrest! (My obsession!) But I did alter the recipe a bit. Here is what mine looked like:
So, this is what I did. First I bought one round loaf of unsliced Italian bread (sourdough). Then I sliced the bread like you would if you were cutting it to serve but do not cut all the way through to the bottom.
Next, you will need one stick of butter (or two for bigger loafs), softened. Mix the softened butter with a packet of Ranch seasoning. Now, spread the butter mixture on each of the sides of the sliced bread. Then, take shredded (or sliced) cheddar cheese and sprinkle between the slices. Finally, take chopped, cooked bacon and sprinkle it between the slices.
Next, slice the bread the opposite way and repeat the butter, cheese and bacon layers. Wrap this in foil and you can refrigerate overnight or for a few hours if needed. Just before time to eat, place in preheated oven, 375 degrees for 20 minutes then unwrap and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Place on a serving platter and let people pull apart the pieces and pop them in their mouth! They melt! It's delicious! I promise!
